Josh D-Day
VOCALS

Josh Day, who goes by the stage name of D-Day, has been writing music since he first learned how to play the acoustic guitar and sing at the age of twelve. Before co-founding NORMUNDY, Josh was the front man for a band called Running For Last. Josh’s main musical influences are bands such as ‪Linkin Park‬, ‪Enter Shikari‬, and ‪Papa Roach‬. D-Day is passionate about self expresion, technological innovation, and physical well-being. He tries to inject all of these into what the band does. One of his primary goals with music is to create a positive message that fans can latch on to by combining powerful lyrics with energetic and catchy instrumentals, and NORMUNDY has provided a perfect outlet for just that.

Writing poetry from age 9, Gabriel continued to further this art by funneling his writing into hip-hop at age 15. Influenced by Tupac Shakur, Biggie Smalls, and Eminem, he developed a complex and lyrical style. After writing raps for 8 years and simultaneously listening to hardcore bands, he developed an aggressive style that he chalks up to "A mixture of Zach De La Rocha (the vocalist from Rage Against The Machine) and Eminem." Gabriel was approached by D-Day, the lead singer of NORMUNDY, to begin a side project of rap/rock that would later grow into what is now called NORMUNDY.

Ever since the age of three Josh Tompkins was enamored with music. He started playing drums at the age of six moving on to learn a few more instruments. Throughout his teen years Josh played in numerous bands around the Indy area. Spending as much time as possible learning anything and everything he can.  Josh continues to play with the band Brothers Grimm and is a ghost writer for artists and producers around the world. His favorite thing to do is lay out on a hammock and play guitar.

The first day Joel Rice got his hands on a guitar was around 10 years old. Joel played his neighbor's guitar and became completely immersed with it. He saved up all the money he could and scrounged for change until he could buy his first guitar a few months later. Joel practiced and beat on that guitar almost every day playing blues. After awhile Joel wanted to play metal. He then attempted to paint his guitar and put new pickups in at around 12 years old (which turned out how you would expect for a 12 year old kid). Ever since then Joel has never been able to leave them alone. He's always redoing or modifying guitars to this day. He started his first band when he was 15 and since then he hasn't been able to stop. Playing live shows is one of his favorite things in the whole world. And he'll keep doing it until his body won't let him anymore.
